Type of Program
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is Iowa's only comprehensive academic medical center. This includes an adult tertiary care hospital and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Our adult and pediatric emergency departments provide services to over 65,000 patient visits per year. Our three-year emergency medicine residency accepts 10 residents per year. Emergency Medicine is a required rotation for the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

Ultrasound Fellowship Education
The fellow will work closely with a team of two ultrasound faculty as we continue to capitalize on numerous growth opportunities within our department, across the hospital enterprise and within the college of medicine. In addition to mastery of advanced emergency ultrasound skills, the fellow will also participate in a didactic series offered in research skills, administrative skills, educational methodology, and academic career guidance provided by experts in each respective field.
