University of Rochester Medical Center-Strong Memorial Hospital

Program Description

Type of Program

The Department of Emergency Medicine is a full academic Department at the University of Rochester.

Our well-established three-year program is fully accredited by the ACGME. We accepted our first class of eight residents in 1994. The program grew to 10 residents in 2001. With rapid growth in patient volume, we were approved for 12 residents in 2004.

We see a high ED volume/acuity (100,000 patients/year).

Our program offers a unique blend of excellence in teaching and rigorous academic standards, a well-balanced and complete curriculum, a wide range of hand-on experiences, and a supportive and friendly environment.
