Type of Program

FEP of TEAMHealth is privileged to deliver emergency medical care to more than 600,000 patients a year within Florida Hospital in the Greater Orlando and Central Florida area.
In addition we train future emergency physicians, on our three-year Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Florida Hospital- East Orlando, which was accredited in 2007 and offers six categorical positions.
The majority of training will take place at the Florida Hospital East Orlando campus.This 265 inpatient bed hospital, provides emergency services for over 120,000 patients annually and is compose of the fastest-growing suburban communities in the area, with closest proximity to the Orlando International Airport.

Ultrasound Fellowship Education

The Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship began in 2013. This is a one-year program design to give graduates of emergency residency programs the skills abd knowledge to become ultrasound directors and leaders in the field of emergency ultrasound.
The fellowship is a 12-month position as a junior attending of Emergency Medicine at Florida Hospital-East Orlando. Education includes:
• Participate in monthly journal club/article readings
• Participate in intern ultrasound boot camp course
• Simulation education:
- Sonosim simulator
- Participation at Adventist University Sonography Lab
- FAST Phantom, Vascular Phantoms, LP Phantoms and Pelvic Phantoms
• Online module training using digitalchalk. Complete all 12 online tests at www.emsono.com/acep, through DigitalChalk.
• Attend/participate in one local, national or international conference at minimum
- E.g., ACEP, AAEM, WINFOCUS, AIUM, SAEM
• Participate in education of emergency ultrasound rotating medical students including bedside teaching and weekly QA sessions
• Participation resident rotation
• Monthly 2-hour medical student education for EM rotators
• Participate in local, national and international EUS courses
• Attend scholarly track meetings and participate in education of scholarly track residents
• Stay up-to-date with current literature, reading and reviewing ultrasound-related 
articles. Maintain the library of articles that we review.
