University of Pennsylvania

Welcome to Clinical Ultrasound at The University of Pennsylvania!

The University of Pennsylvania has had a continuous ultrasound fellowship since 2004. Of our 28 graduated fellows, the majority have gone on to careers in academic medicine. We pride our program on being able to tailor the training to the specific focus of the fellow with a specific focus on medical education, critical care, and global health. Our division leads the vertically integrated 4-year ultrasound curriculum in the medical school and we are the first to offer a combined fellowship training for individuals outside of emergency medicine. We've taken fellows with specialized training in pulmonary/critical care, nephrology, geriatrics, and general medicine.

The goal of our fellowship is fourfold:
1. To provide an environment where fellows become outstanding sonologists, and integrate ultrasonography into their clinical practice.
2. To foster educators and leaders in medicine.
3. To acquire the tools for a successful career in academic medicine and/or EUS leadership.
4. Have FUN during this busy year!
