Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center

Welcome to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship webpage. We are a new cutting edge fellowship having matriculated our first fellow in July 2017.

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is a 400 bed level one trauma center serving as the tertiary care facility for Northern New England. Our hospital is located in Lebanon, New Hampshire and is the primary training facility for the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth located 2 miles away in quaint Hanover NH. The emergency department sees 35,000 patients per year with an admission rate of >30% and hosts our 3 year emergency medicine residency which enrolled its first class of 6 residents in 2012.

As the only tertiary referral center in New Hampshire, our ED population is socioeconomically diverse with broad pathology. The generally older, sick population provides ample opportunity for many ultrasound guided procedures, resuscitation, and pathologic US findings. Our unique rural setting and level 1 trauma center status provide the unique opportunity to live in the picturesque Upper Valley within minutes of virtually any outdoor endeavor and practice cutting edge emergency medicine.
