University of Vermont Medical Center

Welcome to Vermont!

Our Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Program is based in Burlington at UVM Medical Center and affiliated with community and rural critical access hospitals across VT and upstate NY. We have 8 dedicated ultrasound faculty who trained at outstanding EUS fellowships across the country including Hennepin, Utah, Denver, Rochester, Dartmouth, and Albany. We chose Vermont to build an EUS fellowship and educate residents and medical students at a busy tertiary academic center, while enjoying life alongside the lake, mountains, and rural communities of New England.

UVM Emergency Medicine has a 3-year residency and fellowships in Wilderness Medicine, Medical Education, and Global Health. We have ongoing international projects in Africa and the Caribbean. Our Department of Emergency Medicine has Sections of EMS, Wilderness & Austere Medicine, Global Health, Rural EM, Pediatrics, Health Equity, Healthcare Innovation, Palliative and Geriatric Medicine, Sports Medicine, Toxicology, and Critical Care with dedicated faculty excited to collaborate with the EUS Fellow.

We are EUFAC-accredited and fellowship graduates are eligible for the AEMUS FPD exam.

The Burlington area provides a unique small town feel, while simultaneously offering incredible food, live music, and culture. UVM faculty and residents are innovative, active, supportive, balanced, treat each other like family, and fully embrace a lake-meets-mountains lifestyle.

We hope you consider joining us to become a future leader of Emergency Ultrasound.
