We are a 640-bed tertiary care hospital and the only Level 1 trauma center in a suburban environment with a 1.2 million catchment area serving the Interstate-35 corridor between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin. Our adult and children's hospital EDs see over 100K patients per year. The EM residency is the 2nd oldest in Texas, with 14 residents/year in a 3-year program. The Temple/Belton area is situated 1 hour north of Austin, 2 hours south of Dallas, and 3 hours NW of Houston, so within 180 miles of 80% of TX population.
