Other Duties

The fellow will assist in training Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows and faculty, fellows and residents from other specialties in the use of Point-of- Care ultrasound to improve patient care. The fellow will also provide feedback to the residents and faculty regarding the quality of their scanning. The fellow will also participate in scheduled ultrasound simulation sessions for residents, fellows and faculty

There are multiple local and regional teaching opportunities.

Educational Experience

Two scanning shifts per week ( non-clinical ) in the Pediatric Emergency department. In addition, the fellow will rotate in the general Emergency Department (EM) with general EM ultrasound faculty . There will also be opportunities to scan with echocardiographers.
Weekly pediatric emergency ultrasound meetings comprise of:
- Ultrasound didactic and /or
- Journal club
- Fellow scan review/ quality assurance (QA) session.
- Research. Elaboration of new research activities and training projects / discussion on ongoing projects.
The fellow will also attend weekly general EM quality assurance and image review conferences.
