Number of Clinical Hours:

8 shifts / month (8 hour shifts)

Other Duties

Academic:
Fellows will be expected to complete a minimum of 1000 ultrasound studies; attend weekly conference; assist with selection of journal articles for discussion, deliver at least 4 separate lectures; participate in hands on teaching of residents, students, and faculty; and assist with the Tufts medical school ultrasound curriculum

Research and Faculty Development:
Fellows will be expected to develop and conduct a research project, submit a manuscript for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, submit an abstract to a regional or national conference, assist with division research projects, and attend an ultrasound conference

Administrative:
Fellows will perform regular QA of department scans, maintain a database of teaching images, manage maintenance of ultrasound machines, help organize annual Portland ultrasound CME course, serve as director for the annual Sugarloaf ultrasound conference, and assist in selection for following year’s fellow

Number of Sites

The majority of clinical shifts will be at Maine Medical Center

Fellows may also be scheduled to work occasionally at Brighton First Care, an urgent care center affiliated with Maine Medical Center
