Fellowship Program

Length of Fellowship:

12 months


Commensurate with PGY level, as per the local GME salary scale.

Additional Funds

$3,500 CME stipend
Funded travel for accepted research
Laptop computer (if needed)
Dedicated Ultrasound Fellow space in EM offices

Number of Clinical Hours:

8, 8-hour shifts/month

Other Duties

Scanning shifts: 1/week
Video review and QA: 3-4 hours/week
Instruct interns and PGY-3s on ultrasound rotation
Assist with ultrasound program administration
Research project
Other teaching opportunities within the medical school, local/regional/national conferences

3 (2 adult, 1 pediatric)

Additional Opportunities

Fellows will also have opportunities to participate in ultrasound courses given locally, regionally, and nationally.

Educational Experience

A unique aspect of the ultrasound fellowship at Denver Health is that fellows meet weekly with the fellowship Director for didactics, planning, scanning shifts, and video review.

A typical week for an ultrasound fellow at Denver Health Medical Center looks like this:

Monday-Clinical Shift
Tuesday-Scanning shift, didactics for residents
Wednesday-Clinical Shift
Thursday-Didactics, image review and scanning with US faculty
Friday-Administrative Day/work on research project
