Corewell Health / Emergency Care Specialists
Program Resources
Ultrasound Machines
There are 16 ultrasound machines within our system's 11 emergency departments that are all connected to QPath. (15 Zonare Pro and 1 Butterfly).
There are currently 4 Zonare Pro machines at Butterworth and 1 Zonare Pro machine at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, the two primary sites that the ultrasound fellow will perform clinical and teaching shifts.
Ultrasound Probes
Phased, Linear, Curvilinear, and 5+ Endocavitary Transducers.
Our endocavitary transducers undergo high level disinfection through a collaborative agreement with our radiology department.
Image Recorder
All our ultrasound exams are digitally recorded and stored in QPath.
Billable exam images and interpretation worksheets are automatically sent to our hospital's PACS system and EMR directly from our ultrasound machines to offer a seamless and efficient documentation process.
Educational Resources
Fellows are expected to attend the ACEP US Management Course and encouraged to consider attending an ESP Physics and Specialty weekend course. In addition, Fellows will have access to 123 Sonography Echo Lectures.
Our fellows are given two, two-week electives to focus on an area of interest: international emergency medicine, transesophageal echocardiography, and regional anesthesia have been quite popular.

You'll have the ability to learn and practice TEE with our cardiovascular fellowships's newly purchased Simbionix ultrasound trainer http://simbionix.com/simulators/us-mentor/us-library-of-modules/us-tee/
