Fellowship Director Requirements

1) If not fellowship trained, does the EUS fellowship director have at least 3 years of experience using EUS in clinical practice after residency?

Yes - The EUS Fellowship Director is both fellowship trained and has at least 3+ years of experience using EUS.

2) If fellowship trained, did the EUS fellowship director complete fellowship more than 1 year ago?

Yes - The EUS Fellowship Director graduated from EUS fellowship in 2019.

3) Does the fellowship director have a record of excellence in teaching? (This ability can be demonstrated by teaching awards, consistently favorable evaluations by residents and/or fellows, or the like.)

Yes - AWARDS: ACEP Junior Faculty Teaching Award, American College of Emergency Physicians, October 2022; Appreciation Award (for Outstanding Contribution to Resident Education and Training and Dedication to Promoting Academic Success), University of Connecticut Integrated Residency in Emergency Medicine, June 2022; Excellence in Teaching Award, University of Connecticut Integrated Residency in Emergency Medicine, June 2021; Teacher of the Year, Mount Sinai St. Lukes West Emergency Medicine Residency, June 2020; Medical Student Educator of the Year, Mount Sinai St. Lukes West Emergency Medicine Residency, June 2019; Resident of the Year, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Emergency Medicine Residency, June 2018; Outstanding Scholarly Activity, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Emergency Medicine Residency, June 2018

4) Does the EUS fellowship director have at least four regional and national abstract research presentations at meetings conducted by organizations such as ACEP, SAEM, AIUM or similar meetings over a three-year period

5) Is the EUS fellowship director involved in advancing emergency ultrasound by active participation or leadership in one of the previously mentioned nationally recognized organizations?

Yes - The EUS Fellowship Director actively participates in SCUF, ACEP\'s EUS section and AEUS. The EUS Fellowship director is the Incoming Chair of the ACEP EUS Resident Education subcommittee, as well as participates on the ACEP EUS Fellow Education and Critical Care subcommittee.
