Other Information
First year residents do a required 1 month ultrasound rotation. Many of the third year residents to a 1-month ultrasound elective. We also host residents from other specialties seeking point of care ultrasound training/education. During the rotation, residents complete an assigned curriculum of educational modules (EMSono) and online lectures. During their scan shifts they are proctored by an ultrasound attending or directly by the fellow. In addition, they attend the weekly academic meeting with the fellow which includes topic review, scanning, research updates and image review. Medical students also participate in the ultrasound rotation as a medical school elective. Both the residents and the students are welcome to participate in the fellow's research endeavors.
