Ultrasound Fellowship Education

The fellowship program features a cohesive curriculum that covers all facets essential to emergency ultrasound program directorship. Unique to our fellowship is the opportunity to pursue an individually tailored sub-specialty tract focused on the fellow's specific interest area within emergency ultrasound including medical education, research, administration, wilderness or international medicine.

Carilion EUS Fellows participate in regular didactic sessions, scanning shifts with emergency ultrasound faculty, quality assurance conference, research, clinical teaching, and academic faculty development programs.

We offer unique opportunities for collaborative education, QA, and research projects with other EM fellowship programs, VTC school of medicine, and outside departments at Carilion. These experiences are facilitated by our ever-expanding POCUS machine fleet, Qpath ultrasound management system, an institution-wide multi-disciplinary POCUS committee, and innovate faculty who are enthusiastic about ongoing expansion and improvement of our emergency ultrasound program.
