Cara Brown is an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and went on to complete an Emergency Medicine residency at Baystate Medical Center. She completed an Ultrasound Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Queens (formerly New York Hospital Queens).
Prior to joining the Emergency Medicine faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine, Dr. Brown held the title of Director of Resident Ultrasound Education in Emergency Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, Northwell Health. She was also heavily involved in training the Emergency Ultrasound fellows while at Staten Island University Hospital. She has presented her research at national conferences and has traveled internationally to teach ultrasound.
At Mount Sinai, Dr. Brown has held the position of Director of Ultrasound Education and Fellowship Co-Director within the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Division. In those roles, she has updated the intern ultrasound rotation curriculum and designed a medical student elective curriculum. She is engaged in hands-on training and weekly didactics with the medical students, residents, and fellows.
