Program Description

Type of Program

The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is one of the major Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals and is the home for the three year ACGME-accredited Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

The Emergency Department is a level I trauma center serving the Boston metropolitan area. Each year we provide care for nearly 58,000 patients, many with high-acuity medical problems. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet these needs of a high-volume, acutely injured or ill patient population and strives to provide compassionate and efficient care. We have a very dynamic and successful academic faculty and training environment, and the Department is well-respected within the Medical Center. Excellent inter-departmental relationships and opportunities within BIDMC include the outstanding experiences available through Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Anesthesia.
