Compensation: $160,000. The fellow will receive full benefits of a faculty position. Further compensation is available from moonlighting within the Christ Medical Center ED.

Sonographer shifts:
This will consist of three to four shifts per month in which the fellow will perform ultrasounds as needed for patients within the ED. In this role, fellows will have no direct patient care responsibilities, thus allowing them to hone their skills and teach the residents to perform and interpret bedside ultrasounds.

The ultrasound fellow is responsible for the following:

Clinical shifts:
The fellow will provide patient care activities as an instructor in emergency medicine. In this capacity you will be functioning in an attending role supervising residents and managing the treatment room.


Ultrasound Educational:
The educational component of the fellowship will focus on the following areas (abdomen, pelvis, trauma and cardiac), along with cutting edge US ED applications, such as resuscitative transesophageal echo, first-trimester ultrasound in our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic, pediatric ultrasound with our pediatric sonography team, and advanced echocardiography with our EM/critical care faculty. The fellow will meet with the Director of Emergency Ultrasound regularly to discuss journals, review educational materials, teach new hands-on techniques, evaluate US exams during QA, and present lectures. The fellow is expected to help teach the EM residents and participate in U/S research activities.
