Program Description

Type of Program

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine- Jacksonville houses a 1-year AEMUS fellowship accredited by EUFAC, along with an ACGME accredited residency program and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship, and fellowships in emergency medicine and acute care research, administration, patient safety and medical education. With 46 EM residents, 6 PEM fellows, rotating medical students and off-service rotators, fellow educational opportunities abound. Fellows will gain educational experience at all clinical sites: UF-Health Main Clinical Center, UF-Health North Campus and the UF-Health Wildlight site, along with three additional free-standing EDs in metro Jacksonville .

Ultrasound Fellowship Education

AEMUS fellows will complete the 1-year long curriculum with a focus on hands-on scan sessions in an active clinical environment, refinement of their ultrasound teaching skills and learn ultrasound program administration and management. Fellows are required to assist in the ultrasound education of residents, medical students, advanced practice providers and emergency medical technicians, take an active role in emergency departmental ultrasound quality review and participate in ongoing research projects. At the end of fellowship, fellows will be eligible to sit for the Focused Practice Designation through ABEM.

Welcome to the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship program at the University of Florida College of Medicine- Jacksonville.
