796 hours per year after personal leave

Other Duties

Approximately 480 hours per year dedicated to fellowship activities:
- Medical student education
- Resident education
- APP and EMT education
- Proctored scan shifts
- QA/Image Review
- Research activities
- Journal Club/ literature review

1. UF-Health Jacksonville Main Clinical Center: 620 bed urban teaching hospital with >95,000 patients visits per year, 21% pediatrics, 18% admission rate with 21% to ICU level care
2. UF-Health Jacksonville North: 92 bed community-based hospital with 31,000 patient visits per year, 16% pediatrics, 12% admission rate.
3. UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center- Baymeadows
4. UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center- Lane Avenue
5. UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center- New Kings

Additional Opportunities

Opportunities to participate (presenter, facilitator, workshop instructor) at regional and national CME POCUS courses with Clinical Decision Making in Emergency Medicine, Critical Points, ACEP, SEMPA, and SAEM. Clinical moonlighting opportunities are also available.

Educational Experience

ED-heavy POCUS experience with a full simulation center at the UF-Jacksonville Center for Simulation Education and Safety Research (CSESaR) on campus. The UF-Jax CSESaR is housed on campus and has an array of high-fidelity simulators, including the Heartworks TTE and TEE simulator, Medaphor ScanTrainer TA/TV pelvic simulator, nerve block phantoms, and a variety of phantoms for procedural practice (Blue Phantom and Simulab).
There are multiple opportunities for Fellows to rotate outside the EM Department with Anesthesia/Pain Service, Radiology, Vascular Lab, and OB/GYN services.

Image Review

Proctored image review for quality improvement occurs weekly using the Q-Path image archiving software. An emphasis is placed on Fellow-performed scans, scans flagged for review by operators, and scans from the Trauma Center and Resuscitation areas

Deadline for Fellowship Application

UF-Jax AEMUS program participates in the NRMP Match, and adheres to those available deadlines.
