$ 75,000 - 5 Clinical Shifts
Additional Clinical Shift Compensation: $210/hour

$4500 CME, one paid ultrasound conference, benefits

12 hours/week with additional opportunities for clinical work

Other Duties

The fellow with be expected to teach the PGY 1/2 EM residents and PGY 4 PEM fellows on rotation, PGY 3 residents on elective and advanced medical students during their ultrasound rotation. They will participate in faculty credentialing and provide lectures during grand rounds. Fellows will be required to develop at least one research project and present it at a national conference.

Number of Sites

Royal Oak serves as the main clinical site while opportunities are available gain extra experience in transvaginal ultrasound and echocardiography at outpatient Beaumont sites.

Additional Opportunities

Fellows will participate in regional and state wide lecture series and participate in medical student teaching at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Educational Experience

The fellow will be primarily trained in the Emergency Department through scanning with the Ultrasound faculty and lectures. They will also have scanning opportunities with a local OBGYN for further transvaginal ultrasound experience and a Cardiologist for advanced echo training. The fellows will have the opportunity to attend Beaumont affiliated MSK and nerve block courses. There are several guest lectures as well as specialized hands on workshops throughout the year.

Image Review

We have weekly image review sessions where we will provide feedback to the fellow and residents regarding the quality and accuracy of their scans and how to improve them.
