Ultrasound Fellowship Education
Our curriculum utilizes one-on-one instruction by fellowship-trained faculty working alongside the fellow, with a variety of advanced ultrasound topics, including how to run an ultrasound division, billing, purchasing, and a strong emphasis on education.
Do you bill for ultrasounds?
Yes, we bill for all ultrasound guided procedures as well as diagnostic ultrasounds performed by credentialed attending physicians. The billable ultrasounds the faculty perform are viewed by outside departments as the "official" scan.
Do you require follow up imaging for patients who get ultrasounds?
Follow up imaging is required for patients that are not scanned by credentialed or fellowship-trained faculty.
Other Information
We have an enterprise wide image archive system in place to facilitate quality assessment, quality improvement and ultrasound billing activities. We are also working on competency-based education and working to identify when learners need additional "just in time" education to maintain proficiency.
