Dr. Foster has been a faculty physician at UT Health San Antonio since 2019. He works within the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Critical Care as well as providing coverage for the ECMO service which has begun implementing E-CPR within the University Health System. His work with the ECMO service allowed University Hospital to achieve a Regional Comprehensive Resuscitation Center Designation.
He is involved with ultrasound education from local to national courses including those with the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His work with Point-of-Care Ultrasound allowed him to be awarded grant funding from the American Heart Association to study the effects of COVID on cardiac function.
The strength of the UT Health San Antonio Ultrasound Fellowship lies in the understanding that the entire ultrasound division is involved in fellow education and that the division is far bigger and more important than one singular director.
