Zucker Northwell at North Shore University Hospital & Long Island Jewish Medical Center

Northwell Health is a large health system spanning the NY metropolitan area. North Shore University is an academic, tertiary care center located on Long Island approximately 25 minutes from Manhattan. The Department of Emergency Medicine hosts fellowship training programs in Sports Medicine and Toxicology as well as an EM residency program. North Shore is a level 1 Trauma Center, NYS Stroke Center, and regional referral center. Long Island Jewish is also a tertiary care center located on the Queens/ Nassau county border. It hosts fellowship programs in EMS as well as both EM and EM/IM residency programs.

Ultrasound education is delivered in the Dept of Emergency Medicine by faculty with years of ultrasound experience. QA, via QPath middleware, is held on a weekly basis where all EM ultrasound examinations are reviewed. Fellows are also exposed to multiple additional courses and training opportunities. The Ultrasound Division hosts its own grand rounds program inviting ultrasound experts from various specialties from around the country.
